Everyone Welcome

With a Focus on Our First Three Priority Groups

  • Many individuals with limb loss or neuromuscular conditions are excluded from aquatic activities due to fear, safety concerns, and equipment limitations. They often struggle with:

    • Buoyancy imbalance

    • Fatigue or overexertion

    • Difficulty staying safely at the surface or achieving neutral buoyancy

    • A sense of loss, frustration, or isolation

These challenges can make entering the water feel overwhelming and disheartening—reinforcing feelings of exclusion and vulnerability.

Disadvantaged Diver aims to change that through bespoke, one-to-one coaching, participants will be supported to:

    • Understand and manage buoyancy

    • Use adaptive scuba equipment

    • Safely distribute weight and balance

    • Build confidence and enjoyment in the water

  • For young people who have struggled in school due to trauma, SEND needs, exclusion, or socioeconomic pressures, traditional environments often feel hostile or unaccommodating. They may lack:

    • Confidence in their abilities

    • Positive role models

    • Meaningful experiences of success

    • A sense of belonging or purpose

AIM for Wellness offers an alternative path to growth—one that’s physical, immersive, and empowering. Diving teaches:

    • Self-regulation and calm under pressure

    • Resilience and problem-solving

    • Teamwork, trust, and responsibility

    • The value of learning through experience and reflection

This group will benefit from discovering success in a radically different environment—where academic labels and past failures hold no power.

  • Many individuals—especially those from inner-city, low-income, or geographically remote areas—are financially and logistically excluded from diving, despite its well-documented wellbeing benefits. These communities often lack access to specialist training centres, cannot afford the cost of equipment or instruction, and are underrepresented in outdoor and aquatic sports.

AIM for Wellness breaks down these barriers by providing:

    • Funded or subsidised diving programmes

    • Mobile outreach and delivery models

    • Equipment and instruction tailored to individual needs

    • Local partnerships to embed opportunity in underserved communities

We believe that the benefits of diving—calm, confidence, connection—should never be out of reach because of postcode or pay grade.
